Final Draft’s Big Break
Big Break! is an annual, global screenwriting competition designed to support emerging creative talent. Big Break! rewards screenwriters with prize money and exposure to the entertainment industry, through meetings with industry professionals, studio executives and agents. Winning screenplays have been optioned and produced, finalists have garnered attention from recognizable production entities and literary agents.
Slamdance Screenplay Competition
The Slamdance Film Festival, held every year in Park City, Utah, continues to be programmed and organized by active filmmakers. The festival has established a unique reputation for premiering independent films by first-time directors working with limited budgets. Slamdance Alumni include Memento director Christopher Nolan (’99, Following), Emmy Award Winning directors, the Russo Brothers (’97, Pieces), and Monster’s Ball director Marc Forester (’96, Loungers).
